I should really be doing my epidemiology homework right now, but instead I seem to be doing this. Suck it, homework!

So. Earlier tonight, my boyfriend told me that he'd been thinking about things for a while now, like really thinking about them, but he'd finally come to a decision: he wants to run a 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons campaign ( Read more... )

I just recently started dating a guy I met during D&D, so this post is right up my alley! I only started playing about two and half months ago, but I'm addicted. The group I play with ranges from elementary school kids to 50+ veterans (unfortunately majority male), plus we play in a store that sells Magic cards... LMAO. We're doing a premade campaign with a very Romeo & Juliet sort of storyline, but it's always great to hear about original stories DMs try to make. 4e apparently went a lot more "WoW" but being mainly a video game person, it seemed to make sense to me. Plus this apparently makes combat a lot more fun.

If you're starting from level 1 and don't mind being a glass cannon, I'd definitely suggest rolling up a thief according to the Heroes of the Fallen Lands book and picking up both Ambush Trick and Tactical Trick as powers. You and Nate should make better friends with my roommates. They have a weekly Five Rings game and they're about to start up a Hackmaster game, too. Once the space pirate one (I don't know the name of it) finishes.

What I'm saying is they're mega nerds and they do a lot of tabletop. <3

At your suggestion I grabbed the demo for Kingdoms of Amalur. And I think you're right, this game looks like huge fun. I think some of us that are still deep in SKYRIM might have missed it entirely but it's totally on my to-do list now. Great environments, awesome monsters, good story, solid fight mechanics. I think it'll be a fun time all round. Thanks for pointing me at it!
oh, and you know how TRON hit a bunch of your kinks, well I'm finding that the remake of Clash of the Titans hit a bunch of mine. Even though people bust on me for liking it, it can't be helped. just like you and TRON, it's me and the new Clash of the Titans.
