It amazes me, but I sort of have nothing to do today! Well, that's not strictly true -- I need to pick up a book that's on hold for me at the library (The Time in Between by María Dueñas, which I'm really excited to read). I think drinking Irish beer, *especially* if you're by yourself, counts as Irish tradition. :) After years of being invited on weeknights when I can't make it, I actually get to go to my sister's for dinner tonight. We're not Irish at all, but her husband is, and his family's tradition is to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with corned beef and cabbage...and Guinness. Yum!

What I find profoundly ironic is that we decided *not* to make plans b/c it was St. Pat's Day. I ended up not going out either. I consider this funny for both of us.

HA!

Sorry to ruin the irony, but I actually did scrounge up some plans at the last minute! My cousin invited me out to an Irish pub with some of her friends, and we had a good time. But this all materialized at 5 pm on St. Patty's Day, so I was looking at a pretty dull evening up until then!
