Many times in this space I have rambled lovingly about the glories of "Library Day." Last week I went to the library and found a book that I had been wanting to read for a while--Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs (I'm about fifty pages in, underwhelmed so far, but that's beside the point ( Read more... )

I love the scent of library books too. ;)

That reminds me of when my cousin bought a used book and discovered a condom wrapper inside. Makes you wonder just howmany secrets a book must have. ;)

What's "Library Day"?
I love all of Burroughs's stuff.
and lastly, I also love smelling library books. (They always make me think of the "library" books from our "summer home" --read: the stack of books in a bug infested mini-trailer at our summer trailer park. lol)

"Library Day" is just my monthly made-up dork holiday. It happens on whatever day I decide to go to the library.

It's nice to know I'm not the only person who likes smelling library books!

I love the smell of brand new unused books.
Nothing like it. =)
The pot users that I know don't read books.
Then again they've all failed the seventh grade like twelve times.

Maybe that's the only way to really enjoy that book. I didn't like it either.

I found Running With Scissors conceptually interesting, but that's about it (it's a funny situation that seems should have been summed up in an amusing anecdote rather than a novel). Try Dry. It's the ONLY book in my entire literate life that has ever made me cry (I must have been having SUCH an Oprah day).
Finding pot in your library book seems so surreal. But of course this IS Memphis.
