Have you ever . . .

. . . been to see a movie so awful that when you leave the theatre and do other things you feel as if other people know where you have been and you feel embarrassed, as if there is a lingering stink on your skin?

Don't go see Halloween.

Hee. I wasn't planning on it, but thanks for confirming my suspicion that it'd suck.

Oh no!!! Tammy and I were just talking about going to see it tomorrow!

Did you see Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects? I LOVE those films, and I know my friend jesspark has gone to see Halloween. I have to go just so I can talk with her about it. But I won't have my expectations all that high...

I wasn't that much of a fan of his two earlier movies. I am a giant fan of Halloween (even though the majority of the movies suck, it's so irrational).

Now you have told the internets and everybody knows!

It had some of the most inadvertently hilarious scenes I've ever seen.

Sheriff: "blah blah blah that's when I secretly took the baby and dropped her off at a hospital and later Mark Strode told me he'd adopted a baby girl--"

Malcolm McDowell: "OH. MY. GOD."

What? You knew the girl existed, right? And you have no idea who Mark Strode is, right? And you knew that Michael Myers was going to be looking for his sister, right? So why does this shock you?

I started laughing and I couldn't stop. It was at that moment all denial that this was one of the worst movies I've ever seen was dropped and I just tried to lean back and enjoy the cushions on the theatre seat.

Add the over-the-top characterizations of the deadbeat live-in boyfriend, the slutty cheerleader, the no-good teenage daughter, the too-good sister of Michael, the gun shop owner, the general ickiness of the child Michael (except to his mother), the lack of acting ability (except for the screaming of the little girl--if I ever need to cast a screaming child, I'll call her manager)...all pointed to a total waste of movie $$$. Fortunately, I rarely pay for my own admission....

But we hadn't gone to see Halloween, we could go see Shoot 'Em Up twice. DOUBLE CLIVE OWEN.

I've yet to see someone say something good about it who wasn't a die-hard Zombie fan.
