Castle iPhone wallpapers

An embarrassingly long time ago, a-loquita asked me whether I'd be able to turn my hand to making some Castle iPhone wallpapers. I didn't forget, honest, I've just not really cracked making things in portrait and nothing I've tried has really worked yet (though I'm sure I'll get there... it took me long enough to crack full size wallpapers and also icons ( Read more... )

Oh no! I didn't ever intend to make you feel guilty! I don't know much about graphics, I'll admit, so maybe I can't fully put into words the how/why but I love these! I think they are fabulous and beautiful. I don't know what kind of improvement you think you need? I think you nailed it and these are all great! The colors and the blending of elements on the first three are really interesting. I, of course, adore the kissing ones hee! And all the others too, they are just perfect in terms of both their shippy factor and how they turned out visually. I love the idea that every time I look at my lock screen now I'll have a second of Castle fannish delight and smile! Thanks, hon :)

Oh don't feel bad! It was great to try out a new format and I always enjoy a challenge :) Plus I always enjoy making art - any excuse to make more is always welcome!

I think, if I can explain it, I was hoping to be able to open up a blank canvas and just make something new from scratch, but that was what I was struggling with. My brain doesn't quite yet think graphically in that portrait format in terms of how to compose the art. Hence why these are reworkings of old things - it's easier sometimes to go back to the original PSD file and just move things you already worked on around to fit a new space, even though I somehow feel it's cheating a little. But that's me being hypercritical of myself...

I'm pleased with how these came out though, and I'm so glad you like them! I like to think of you having that fannish delight moment whenever you look at your phone! Thanks for the challenge - and as I said, I'll keep working on this format as well as standard wallpapers/icons/sigs now :)
