Never been to a concert - I'm curious, why not?

I live in Southern Oregon, and 90% of Oregon concerts happen in Portland, and I usually just don't have the money to go. On the rare occasions a concert happens in the next town over, I either don't have the money or something else comes up. Like, Korn was here about six months ago, and I was so pissed I couldn't go.
