Well said! I'm happy that you're happy and if you're both happy and love each other that should be a strong foundation for the future ahead. Marriage is such a yucky word right now =X
My mom told me to she prefer me to have a Viet guy so he can talk to her not just a 'hi' and a 'bye'.

That's right, strong foundation for the future. =)

Marriage yucky? You're probably way too young anyway. And see what I'm saying about mom and/or dad making it clear they want you to choose your own kind? Sigh.

But my mom also said whatever makes me happy, she's not gonna be the one living with him so blah. hahaha. So yea whatever makes you happy Jane, she should be able to accept it in the end.

Marriage and age doesn't have anything to do with me. I just have a lot planned for my future, I won't be able to balance a marriage and a carreer that's all.

My parent eventually said whatever makes me happy too. Parents always come around.

that makes so much sense.
i can't believe i haven't thought of that yet.

actually, maybe it's because race isn't really much of an issue in Hawaii, since it is considered a "melting pot" of different ethnicities.

great post.

Thanks! Good to know that others agree.

NYC is a big time "melting pot" as well. I don't think that's the issue. It doesn't matter where people are - (like i said) certain beliefs are just deep rooted.
