So, against the wishes of everybody in the house, I was forced to repeat the baking of a strawberry pie, which had been premiered last Wednesday in honor of Jennie's departure for the North.
i will send you my great grandma's recipe too... hers is minus the cornstarch and plus lemon juice (and something else, which i forget right now), which cuts the sweetness of the strawberries with tartness and makes the sauce more shiny and less cloudy like cornstarch tends to do.
strawberries are pretty much the BEST thing in the world. i had no idea that oregon had a special kind of strawberry! MUST TRY!!! the ones we get here are from the lovely vietnamese farmers at the farmers markets.
p.s. i would SO not be dismayed by strawberry pie if i was a housemate! VIVA STRAWBERRY PIE FOR EVERY MEAL!
