This journal is friends only because I am not very into snoops being all up in my business.  If you would like to be all up in my business, leave a comment.  It helps if I know you, though.

I know you, we did that seminar in Nebraska, 1997-- me, a stately professor at a mid-level West Coast University; you, an up-and-coming star in the field of paleo-basket-weaving.

Charmed.

What's good in the wicker business?

I am currently working on a to-scale representation of the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant, soon to be known as the George W. Bush Sewage Plant. I think that it will really get me recognised among certain influential circles in paleo-basket-weaving. The only way is up! (Baby.)

Hello,
Saw your post on the Bloomington community, and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm from (comparatively speaking, at 4000 miles distance) just up the road in Herts, although I've been over here for quite a while now. If you have any questions or acclimation problems, I'd be more than happy to help.

A quick FYI: If you hadn't found it yet, the Marsh supermarket on east 3rd (across from the mall) has a small British food section. It's a little overpriced, but it's one of a very few places in town you can actually get things like jelly babies, aeros, chocolate digestives, and so on. Too expensive to go there regularly, but useful when you find yourself getting homesick.
