"Espresso, thanks. I could use it." Parker stretched a bit, then looked down ruefully at her T-shirt. "I should probably go change clothes. I didn't get the chance over lunch."
"You're fine," said Janet, waving Parker to a seat. "With the way I'm constantly dressed, I promise, I won't make fun of your not being in designer gear for once."
Of course, Parker could be wearing designer clothing, and Janet wouldn't know it.
Parker grinned, and folded herself down on the floor. "Thanks. I was kind of in a hurry this morning." She cocked her head. "And again, sorry you got left out of the latest fun. I would've asked, if I'd been organizing anything. But I wasn't."
And Janet's name went down on the list of people to check in with....
"I know you would have, and I did see what kind of shape you were in. And I appreciate it," said Janet, handing Parker an espresso and then sinking, cross-legged, onto her bed. "But after getting worried, then adding the mess in the clinic on Sunday on top of that, when I was trying to treat people with no clue what was going on, I got a little upset."
