I'm now a couple of fics past the 300 mark (not counting things that never made it to my LJ and therefore to my masterlist) and a couple of months past my third LJ anniversary. I think I'm overdue for a comment fic party

I am always up for prompting others! (Also, 300!? Daaaamn! And congrats!). Am I allowed to suggest my own pet rarepairs? Or should I stick to prompts involving pairings I know you've written? :)

Prompt what you like. I'm hoping that other folks will show up and write things too, so maybe if it's not something I know how to do someone else will attempt it.

300, I know, it scares me a bit too. Sometimes I find myself checking my masterlist to make sure that the title I'm planning to use for something new isn't one I've used before. Scary. :-)

100k is awesome! Now just imagine how many fics that would be if you wrote only tinyfics! :-)

It's not a competition, anyway. How could it be? There's always someone out there who's written more things, or more words, or better things. There are people out there who write so well it makes me want to give up because I'll never be that good (I DID give up my attempts at playwriting after I saw my first Stoppard). There are people who write things I could never write, for reasons beside quality. And there are people out there who churn out fic, thousands of words a week, every week, and it's just... bland and unremarkable at best because they haven't taken the time to proof-read, reflect, or edit. I think wherever you choose to aim to be on the quality vs quantity continuum is fine, but anywhere in the middle is better than either extreme. I'm not sure I could be happy writing one drabble a year even if it was a drabble that made the whole world cry, but I know people who would be

Prompt 1! Any Misha/Gen story in which they're both alphas. (If you want to put them in a triad with omega!Jared, that's totally fine by me, but it's not necessary). :P

Prompt 2! Misha is a marauding weredragon. Jared's hair is ... shiny.

Prompt 3! A Teen wolf type scenario (one half of a pair of best buds gets bitten by a creature and transforms). But with something other than a werewolf. Like, a tentacle monster. Or a unicorn (Teen Unicorn!). Any combination of Misha, Gen and/or Jared is fine by me.

I can probably come up with more later. :P

Heh, I just wrote one sentence for #1 and then realised, hey, I have a 3000 WIP that fits this. Perhaps I should finish that instead? :-)

I like #2. I'm not familiar with Teen Wolf, though the idea of Jared suddenly becoming a unicorn or Misha a tentacle monster certainly appeals. Do you want them to have the ability to change back?

Unusual 1

Hallowe’en sure plays a trick on Genevieve. Something quite different was supposed to happen. She was supposed to go into Heat, or maybe just keep on muddling along like the rest of the Betas. There weren’t any Alphas in her family, and she’d never had any of the signs of latent Alpha-ness. She’d been a girly-girl, hadn't been tomboyish or bossy, hadn’t broken any limbs doing stupid stunts on skateboards or jumping out of trees, hadn’t set any fires, hadn’t felt instinctively protective towards little Omega Dad. And there was no family history, as far as anyone knew. None. Nada. Zilch

Jim blows out a breath that stirs his bangs. “Okay. Cool. Guess my instincts were right about you, huh?”

Bones returns just about then, carrying the huge old leather medical bag that freaked Jim out when it was Grandpa McCoy who wielded it and still kinda bothers him now. It’s the sort of thing you expect someone to reach into and come out with scary old-school amputation equipment, or leeches, or laudanum. (Actually, now that he’s a bona fide grown-up in full command of his own destiny, et cetera, Jim actually wouldn’t mind sampling a nice spot of laudanum one of these days.)

“So,” Bones says, “I don’t know what the hell species you are and I don’t know how your hybrid status affects things, so if I’m going to be dealing with poison blood or some such nonsense you better tell me now.”

My favorite fic of yours is Expecto... The way you portray Severus is just incredible. So hilarious. I like to read it when I am hormonal and hitting the depths because it makes me smile and laugh.
I would swoon if you wrote a Snarry a/b/o fic...with Harry as the alpha. *grins*

Thanks. I reread it last night after I saw this comment, and smiled. :-)

I'm trying to figure out how that might work? Are Muggles a/b/o too? Or just magical folk? Or maybe all Muggles are Beta, and all Alphas and Omegas are magical (then a Squib would be a Beta born into an all A-and-O family)? But then you'd get a/o problems between students and between teachers and students all the time. So maybe it's rare, even in the magical world? Or maybe you don't come into your a/b/o status until you're, say, 18 and either out of school or just about out of school? Or perhaps Omegas are really really rare and Snape is hiding that he is one through the magic of potions? But Harry sniffs him out anyway?

LoL Perhaps an Omega's heat is only triggered by their mate. Or perhaps a potions accident brings out a latent a/b/o creature inheritance. I do like your idea of Snape hiding what he is through potions and Harry sniffs him out anyway.
