Book Review: The Dark Tower

A lot of people think Stephen King is a really good writer. Let's not mince words. Those people are idiots. Oh, he's no Dan Brown, don't get me wrong. He can string a plot together without resorting to the most basic of stereotypes. But in the encyclopedia, next to the entry for "Hack" there is a picture of Linus Torvaldis, inventor of Linux. yay! Someone else who thinks Stephen King is awful. In middle school, I read his books and liked them, I read a ton. As I got older though, I realized just how terrible his writing really is. It got on my nerves to read any book by him. That is also my opinion, not meaning to offend anyone here.

The problem is, he is such a good writer of environment, but his characters are crap and the plots are repetitive.

I got annoyed by his wording sometimes. In one particular story I read, he used the word whino so much, I actually got annoyed. I agree with the plotds and character thing too.

Note to self: Don't read Stephen King. Wait, I don't already. I have a book or two of his and I never get past a chapter or two without saying "eh, nevermind"

He's good at imagery. Other than that he sucks. So that means he sucks most of the time.
