Am I crazy? I mean, what the fuck is all this? It makes me wonder if perhaps she thinks there's some angle she can work and she needs time to get her minions to push it through.

By all means, let's spend MORE time and energy fighting imaginary battles and avoiding the cold reality in November.

What she is hoping is that she can get delegates to change their minds before the convention. Remember, they are not LEGALLY bound to follow the will of the voting. They can choose to cast their ballot at the convention for whomever they please. So the reason she keeps harping on the popular vote thing is to try to convince delegates to vote for her in order to follow the will of the people, and because by her count she won states that are hard to win in the general. Because of course her victories in the primaries mean that Obama can't possibly win those states in the general. Because he'll be running against her. Oh, wait...

According to the NY Times and AP, she's planning to concede. I wish she'd done it Tuesday with grace and humility, but I'll take better late than never when it's this soon after that monstrous speech on Tuesday. She is getting a LOT of pressure from party leadership right now. Which is probably a good way for her to figure out that delegates will NOT change their minds for her.

This whole uber delegate stuff gives me a big fat pain. It's a stupid system and we need to have one election with campaigning to be done in a short amount of time. With TV and the internet, you simply do not need months and months to get your message out. A small viral campaign can go global in a few days, I'm sure that politicians with a couple of million dollars could manage to do a national blitz within a month.
