tonight i am exchanging life stories with G.  too pumped!

So last night was the CMU Christmas Gala. It was so fun! I wore my grad dress, which made me so happy. I felt so pretty.  It didn't even feel too tight, which was sweet. Is it weird that this video totally made me cry?

I am at a place where I really appreciate my community here - I had a huge emotional breakdown on Sunday, and so many people were there for me.  Justin, Scott, Carissa - all there with hugs and shoulders to cry on.  And then Jess made me tea and Landon wrote me the cutest sticky note...man I liked that.  It really made me realise that I am loved ( Read more... )

I've found these to be essential to essay writing:

1. 95.1 CHBN - Christian radio station means good, undistracting music, and it uplifts you at the same time!

2. Supportive friends/boyfriend - they let you take breaks but hold you accountable and don't let you screw around.

3. Sticky notes - they save pages and you can write notes on them.

Today Aicha told me she liked my pin.
I said, "my poppy?"
And she said, "your what?"

And I then realised that not everyone knows what a poppy is. I guess it makes sense because she grew up in Africa and then moved to the States, but still. I never thought that someone wouldn't know what a poppy is. Weird.
