It's all Outback Steakhouse's fault. They had a posted in the newspaper with a "now hiring" ad for summer help. I was originally just planning on working at a temp agency, but I couldn't resist the $$ appeal of serving. So I applied to Outback, and about half a dozen other decent restaurants. When I heard nothing, I got desperate and started applying to the cheapest restaurants I could find... Perkins, Denny's, etc. Still nothing, so I applied to a temp agency.

My test scores were good, so they were thrilled there (I can type fast and use Word... who knew?)--except they said they only had temp-to-hire positions open. I think they were lying though, because I got called later that day for a job on Tues-Wed for a promotional company(I also got called on Tues and Wed for other jobs, heh). It was only paying $7.25, less than I wanted, but it was work, so I went.

After waking up at the ungodly early hour of 7, I got to work at 9 and spent the next four hours PUTTING STICKERS ON BOXES. During my lunch break, I called my mom to tell her how much I hated my life, when she announced that one of the places I applied to wanted me as a server. Woo Woo!!!! (I finished up the day, but then regretfully withdrew myself from work the following day).

So the restaurant is a nice non-chain Italian restaurant. It opens Monday (which is actually the only reason I got the job; they're desperate for help). I started training today (I've never served before), and everyone was very friendly. Meals are expensive and they serve alcohol = teh phat lootz!!

I need money because I am saving up for Pompey the Great, the identity of which will remain a secret until I get it. Woo.
