Emmys

As Jemaine from Flight of the Conchords might say, it's business time.  I'm going to be predicting the Emmy results in this post.  The title probably gave it away, didn't it?  Yeah.

So, like the Golden Globes, I'll post my prediction and my opinion.  Sometimes they'll be the same, but I'm going to take some special consideration for different shows ( Read more... )

I agree about Eli Wallach. His episode, in fact, was the last episode of Studio 60 I watched before dropping out. It turns out I DO know how to quit you, Aaron Sorkin. John Goodman essentially sat behind his desk and made racist remarks in his two-episode stretch, yes? I'm still bitter about him being president when they kidnapped Zoey on TWW.

I'm pretty sure that if Dante were alive and writing today, Kathy Griffin might have won a spot in his Inferno. There was absolutely no reason to act like that other than to piss off some people ... and really, Kathy. Haven't you done enough?

I didn't even know that Friday Night Lights won. I think you would really like FNL (because everyone is beautiful and life is oh so tragic in Dillon, Texas). Seriously. The next time you need to TV binge, you might check that one out.

Hey, I liked the movie a lot. I'm sure the television show is good, too. The coloring and lighting of the show just looks too drab. Maybe that's why I like Ugly Betty so much. It's so BRIGHT.

I love that you know who Flight of the Conchords is. I've been in love with them for just a bit over a year. The first single I ever heard was Albie the Racist Dragon, and it was fantastic.

For the supporting Emmys, I would have gone with Metcalfe even though I couldn't watch DH last season for all the craziness. I also would have gone with John Goodman for his Studio 60 episode, if that show also made me want to pull my hair out. 1 for 2 I guess.

The cast award is kind of misleading. I think they should have an award for best ensemble performance (like the WGA has). The "cast" award just goes to the casting director for filling the roles with the best actors. I do however think that both Ugly Betty and FNL were spot on for this category. More on your next post!
