 I've never made my disdain of all things Tim Burton much of a secret.  I think he's a bit of a hack, to be honest.  He seems to be making the same kind of movie over and over again.  While I respect his unique point-of-view, it's become rather stale.  Yes, Tim...we know you're a strange fellow; we get it.  His cinematic style feels so forced to me

One of the best times I had was when playing in the orchestra for Sweeney Todd a couple years ago. Not many particularly memorable tunes, but enough to get you through it in a unified manner. I completely echo your feelings on Tim Burton, but I'll probably also make the effort to see this one. There's just something about seing Helena Bonham Carter in the same role that Angela Lansbury played that's too hard to pass up.
