In Bruges

Jan 19, 2008 17:56

I just got word that I won 2 tickets to see the advanced screening of In Bruges at E Street Cinemas in DC this Wednesday.

Who's comin' with me?

Psych.  E Street is hard to get to and I'd end up paying 20 bucks for parking.  Because we do not take the metro.

Why do we not take the metro, precious?

Really enjoyed There Will Be Blood. Felt a little long (mostly at the beginning), but it's kind of hard not to love the Daniel Day-Lewis Goes to Crazy Town.

I'm really glad you liked the movie. I hope you liked the Brahms piece at the ending. The ending...was kind of abrupt, too, but I really loved it.

As for the metro...I explain that in my response to Jerry's comment.

You don't take the metro? I'm heartbroken. I've had so many good times on the metro (KTB, remember "EXCUSE ME WHITE PEOPLE!!!"?). I was just at E Street today actually, I love it SO much there. If you have them validate your parking it's a lot cheaper (10 dollars ish depending on how long you stay). Do you have screening passes or actual tickets? Screenings at E Street are first come first serve and the crazies get there hella early. I had advance tickets to Juno two months ago but was ill and had to wait until Christmas to see it. I still lament that loss to this day. If it were a different movie, I'd say reconsider, but I'm not all that excited for In Bruges.

My rationale behind wanting to see In Bruges is strictly based on having been to Bruges a little more than a decade ago. I loved it then so I thought...why not see a Colin Farrell movie set in Bruges ( ... )

I ALMOST mentioned your Metro incident in my comment but I wasn't sure if you were not speaking of that anymore or what. Anyway ... I can understand your reticence.

The moral of this story is NEVER DRINK WITH DOUG. :)

Hmm, maybe this isn't the best time to make this information available, but for future reference:

All metro stations have bathrooms. True, they are locked, but all one has to do is ask the station manager and they'll let one in to use them.

As for the cost, it has gone up quite a bit since the fare hike on January 6. A trip from Shady Grove into DC during the rush hour will set you back a good $4.25.
