1. What was the first fanfic you ever wrote?
It was a Torchwood fic called ‘Find Ianto’. It is rubbish and naïve. (If you fancy reading it you can
find it here. (For some reason I didn’t put it on AO3.)(Warning for M/M relationship.)
2. Is there anything you regret writing?
There are many that I’m not so keen on, but I wouldn’t say I regret anything I’ve written.
3. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.
I think my favourite story of mine is one I wrote last year (with help from the wonderful beta-ing by
duckys_lady). It’s called ‘
Enemies and Neighbours’ and is about Illya’s Russian-hating neighbour getting caught up in UNCLE business. I’m fond of it because, not only is it 5000 words long (which is amazing for me), but also because I like exploring the theme of bigotry.
4. What fic do you desperately need to rewrite or edit?
So, so many.
5. What’s your most popular fanfic?
No idea to be honest. I’m still astounded that people what to read my scribblings.
6. How do you come up with your fanfic titles?
I try to give some sort of idea about the story content, though I usually fail.
7. What do you hate more: Coming up with titles or writing summaries?
Titles. My imagine utterly fails me when it comes to titles.
8. If someone were to draw a piece of fanart for your story, which story would it be and what would the picture be of?
I’ve never really thought about something like this. I’ve just glanced through by back-catalogue and there’s a scene in one of my stories I’d love to see in picture form. The story is called ‘
Friendship Strained’. In the story, Illya is captured and tortured thanks to Napoleon’s wandering eye. When Napoleon comes to his rescue, Illya pushes him aside and walks away.
9. Do you have a beta reader? Why/Why not?
I’ve only had a beta once (see question 3). I must admit that using a beta makes for a better story. However, as most of my pieces are quite short I tend not to bother.
10. What inspires you to write?
At the moment my muse has gone walkabout (again). Usually though, just about anything can inspire me.
11. What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said about your writing?
So many people have said so many nice things, I don’t really want to single anything out.
12. Do you listen to music when you write or does music inspire you? If so, which band or genre of music does it for you?
I tend to have the TV on. If I listen to music I start singing along and I get distracted. I was inspired by a song once. It’s called ‘Winterborn’ by The Cruxshadows. It lead me to writing ‘
Angels Never Cry’.
