Crawling, woohoo!

Elijah's vaccines are all messed up because I skip every other appointment. The doctor has never said anything about it to me, they just give him the next set of vacs that he would have had previously.

I think you already know Elijah sleeps until noon. The idea of him waking before the sun frightens me!

I try to nurse her so she'll go back to sleep like every other time during the night, but she's like, "nope." And it's still pitch-dark in the bedroom. It takes me a while to realize that it's time to wake up. It feels so wrong; although she is extremely cute when I turn on a light and her face scrunches up and she blinks repeatedly.

KS is really conservative/republican/not what I'm used to. At least James will be going with me, which means a lot because he supports our delayed schedule.

Heyyy what foods is Elijah digging lately?

Isn't it crazy how they can sleep in any position that would totally wreck the average adult!
Alex wants to eat at 5am but then goes back to sleep. He sleeps until 8 - 8:30 on the weekends but during the week we have to leave home by 7:30 so I can go to work (yuck!)

I know, I have to stop myself from adjusting her, sometimes. I would be a cripple for weeks if I slept like that.

Marie is up every day at 6 a.m. Last week she did 5:30 for a while, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Sometimes she'll be hungry but wait until we get out of bed to eat, I think because she knows it would put her back to sleep. My child is maybe too clever?

caleb wakes up around 5 or 5:30 most days. my husband gets up with him though. since i nurse him back to sleep when he wakes up in the night, michael does the getting-up-early part.

have you ever tried wearing the mei tai with a support twist? you pull it tighter than you have it in that photo, and when you bring the ties to the front, instead of tying them there, twist them around each other once and then thread them under her legs down to the back (so that you tie the knot on the upper ties at around the same spot as the lower ones)... it is SO much more supportive and comfy for me that way.

I love that tie, but our MT straps are maybe 1 or 2 inches too short for it. Or my hips are one or two inches too big? I can get it knotted, but there isn't enough leftover so that I can tie it securely. In that picture she was nursing and fell asleep and I was too scared to wake her by hoisting her back up.

Our MT is pretty cheap and I'm unhappy with it a lot. We're getting a babyhawk soon. What kind do you have?

Oh, and James gets into bed about an hour or two after we get up. He would probably be physically incapable of getting up with her. But it's a nice thought to keep in mind when he gets a normal job.

when i first started doing the support twist i felt like i didn't have enough. i would be tying the very ends, and i'd have to check on the knot to make sure it wasn't unravelling. but as i got more practice i started tying it tighter and now i have a little more rope, depsite the fact that he has gotten bigger (and sadly, i have not gotten any smaller!)

i have a babyhawk and i love it. i have a friend who is a babywearing expert, so to speak, and she has several MTs and prefers the kozy over the babyhawk. but i think it's partly just what shape feels good on your body? i haven't tried on her kozy (note to self, try it on! no wait, maybe that's a bad idea :) as far as i'm concerned the babyhawk is the best purchase i've made for caleb, hands down.

I bought one for my sister and tried it on when it came to the house and it was so comfortable I wanted to die. I also like that I can choose a reversible pattern, which doesn't look like an option on kozys. Kozies? Whatever. I'm wearing this baby at least 4 hours a day, so I deserve expensive new carriers with reversible patterns.

I'll keep trying the twist. Thanks.
