As I've mentioned from time to time, I get around by bike. Which means that if I have to take anything with me (and that is just about all the time), a good backpack is essential.

I am a lifetime devotee of Jansport for that exact reason - I used to send my backpack off to them annual to have them fix the zippers on it, and I would get little postcards from my backpack about how much fun it was having at Zipper Camp, and that it missed me and would see me soon.

I bought a new backpack before I started law school and was pleasantly surprised at the engineering advances, as they had solved the zipper problem (I still managed to screw one up, but that was totally my fault).

I didn't get any postcards, but High Sierra was quick on the turnaround. And in my case, they replaced the backpack -- I noticed a couple of very minor differences on the backpack that came back.
