Tales from the road

I'm pulled over right now in a small town. It's pouring outside so much that I didn't want to risk it but driving much further. Instead, I'll just sit here while the rain swirls around me and read a bit, perhaps take a nap, and then maybe drive some more later.

I think I'm going to ultimately sleep in my car tonight because I looked up motel prices

When I used to road-trip back and forth to Matagorda, I'd sleep in Wal-Mart parking lots. Any place that's well-lit should be safe. Also, try a public park, or someplace off the beaten path where people aren't liable to go. Hell, go to a motel and sleep in their parking lot.

Be safe. Are you staying in San Antonio? Shawn and I have an extra bed here you can crash on if you want to just stay in Austin.

yeah ditto on the Wal-Mart parking lots. public parks at least here have curfews so you could maybe get in trouble for even being parked there.
