Sometimes it seems that everyone I know has moved on, has lives, is making actual salaries and has become a real adult while I'm stuck here living as a poor ass student ( Read more... )

i'm starting to think people only do one of two things when they graduate college: do some they love -or- get paid. it just seems like you either find something you love doing and do it, or you find a job and start making a living. just count yourself lucky you get to do something you love even if it's not going to earn you any bank for a long time. besides, earning a living is overrated. that's why i'm going back to school - to be poor again! XD

You're sitting in my (rented) house bemoaning the fact that you feel like everyone around you has moved on and has a life...

There was more beer left. We could have talked more.

You don't realize how much I envy you in almost every aspect of your life. You have my love no matter what. And we're growing up and leaving you behind? You left me, remember? : )

You're growing as much as we are, and though we'll stray to myriad corners of the globe, we will never stop being there for each other. Times will come around again, and there will be balance. Trust me! It's worth it. One day we'll all be successful, money-pocketed (if not happy!) folks that can meet up once-a-summer in Vegas.

It's not Matagorda, but it will do.

Honestly Jason, often times I'm really envious of you because at least you're doing something YOU love and it's something important and worthwhile. I'm getting a teaching certification because I had to make a choice between grad school right now or building a life with Anu. It's not that he wouldn't have come with me if I had gone to Kansas or Michigan, but I knew that the better situation depended on us staying here. I'm fine with my decision, but that doesn't mean I don't get wistful when I think of the one I had to forgo ( ... )

Everyone who has a life outside of grad school isn't in grad school. I don't count yet, 'cause all my courses are online and stupid. My blossoming social life is probably going to get nipped in the bud as soon as I start. My classmates will become my new social circle, just like every other grad student^_^
