I think it's good that LZ Granderson is issuing a privilege check on the white gay community. That's needed.

But, why do it in this way of, "Don't criticize Obama?" I think people can criticize Obama however they d*mn well please. People are always going to criticize the president!

This lack of perspective is only going to alienate a black community that is still very proud of Obama and is hypersensitive about any criticism of him, especially given he's been in office barely six months.

Hmmmm. If that's his main argument, that criticism of the president is adding to the multitudes of hurt towards the black gay community, and therefore we should stop doing it, I don't think it's a very good one.

I'd rather get politics on race and sexuality filtered through you, rather than read through a bunch of articles that are going to make me want to go on a vigilante rampage, any day. I trust your judgment, and I'm about as happy with stuck-up, whiny gay people as I am with homophobic men at the moment.

In my opinion, I think everyone needs a good slap to the face with a newspaper, a stern lecture, and a time out.
