I currently use Yahoo BB, and it is quite affordable--and you usually get the first two months free. =3

getting internet has been a HUGE pain for me.

it's 3700 yen/month, first three months free, no installation, but no wireless. i will have k-opti.com

i paid $15/month at home for wireless, but installation was $100.

I've got a 50MB/s connection w/ YahooBB. I'm looking to get rid of my NTT phone line because apparently a phone contract is no longer necessary (heard this from a Nexus employee who was trying to sign up new customers for YahooBB). I currently pay ~4400 yen/mo. for my service (fastest available here in my lil town). Hikari Fiber is also available in larger areas, so you might want to check the availability if you want a screaming connection and no phone-line fuss (although you shouldn't have much of a phone-line fuss if what the Nexus guy told me was true). Costs more to do that, but still less than paying for an NTT line + YahooBB.

YahooBB's English support line is 03-6888-4943. I can't help you with any other companies' phone numbers.

頑張って!
