Great picture. I always wonder how my Morgan would act around water. He has a back yard kiddie pool but only uses it as a very large water bowl. lol I'm in LA so there's only the ocean and I'm not to keen on salt water.
I wanted desperately to teach Caboo to swim and to like water -- he'd handled some pretty deep stream crossings with me while out hiking, but I hoped he could use to to cool off, too. We got a kiddie pool just for that reason, and even peanut butter wouldn't entice him to stand in it, let alone lie down...
Then I took him backpacking in August. First stream we came to, he plunked right in and lay down to cool his belly... and he's loved doing that ever since. That's about all he does in this river, too, but he obviously really enjoys it. He also loves watching the canoes and kayaks go by.
I think Morgan would jump in "real water" too. He likes the rains (the rare times it actually rains in LA) and spends a LOT of time watch the water run by the curb. He's mezmerized with it. My cattledog (RIP) loved water. I had him when I lived in Chicago and he would go in the kiddie pool, jump in river, etc. Having dogs with an aversion to water is so odd to me. I have to find a place to take Morgan out in the wild - there has to be some place in CA I can take him.
