I bought Stella: Season One and the new Stars of the Lid album with my "tax return" (read: paycheck). From what little I've heard so far, the Stars of the Lid album sounds exactly like the last one. So that should be good

Yeah. DC's World War III is this week, so it's going to be crazy. Black Adam's become my favorite comics character, and it's going to be interesting to watch him really tear things up.
I bought NIN's Year Zero today, and I'm usrprisingly impressed with it. I had heard that Trent was drawing from the sounds of Public Enemy's Bomb Squad, and it definitely shows at points. It makes me miss my old PE collection.
I e-mailed my local comic shop to make sure I got all four of the World War III books. I really need to get there every week, it's bad when the books pile up like this. I read the last four issues of 52 and the four World War III issues tonight, and they were a lot better than I was expecting. It's cool they've finally explained what happened to Martian Manhunter to make him what he is in the "One Year Later" books.
I've only heard one song from the new Nine Inch Nails album so far, and I liked the music and production a whooooooole lot more than Reznor's "rapping." I hate when he does that! I'll still give the album a listen, though.
You can listen to the album, streaming, at yearzero.nin.com. This way, you don't have to buy it only to find out you hate it. IMO, though, it's his best work since The Downward Spiral.
It is unfortunate it took till World War III to explain a lot of the changes of One Year Later came to pass, and several characters' changes felt rushed and forced. I had expected them to play out more slowly through the course of 52.
