Reason #541236 to hate Myspace: I didn't realize the computer speakers were on, and while I was moving the mouse to log into the site some damned ad just screamed "HI!" at me and I almost had a fucking heart attack.

Well done, advertisers! If people hate your banner ads enough, they're sure to buy your product. GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Hahahahahahahaha.

I remember my Mom FREAKED OUT back around the time that the Hulk movie was coming out because there was one of those entire browser hijack ads on the main Yahoo page where suddenly the entire screen started shaking, and then the Hulk starts screaming before bashing through the screen.

I remember that Hulk ad. It wouldn't even load the Yahoo main page on my roommate's computer because we had dial-up-- it would literally take like ten minutes to load the whole thing. Ridiculous.

This hasn't happened to me in years, I'm usually very careful to turn the sound off specifically because of shit like this.
