My thoughts on the new 'Alice In Wonderland'

I saw Alice In Wonderland the other day and wish to share my thoughts. As to not spoil it for anyone (dielakitty), I've put my rambles under a cut.

I didn't read anything, but would you suggest my seeing it, as I am relatively hardcore about my Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass?

Yes, I would, actually. It wasn't GREAT, since it isn't really the original Alice In Wonderland, but the actors are good, the visuals are PRETTY, and the plot's not half bad. I was entertained after the pace of the movie picked up. Though I advise you to go with someone. I don't think it would have been as fun if I'd gone alone.

My main concern was that, since the Mad Hatter is Johnny Depp, they'd give him too much influence over the story. I mean, he a recurring character, but just as much as the March Hare...

He did appear more than I would have liked, but the focus is still on Alice. There's a whole section of the movie where we don't see the Hatter at all. So it's not too bad.
