Beth, I think my reasoning comes from LOST creating such an emotional response from me. No other work of fantasy has been able to do that so drastically, including Tolkien. A lot of factors go into creating that heightened response for me, mainly the fact that its long form storytelling. Personally I think the main point of fiction is to produce those responses and to make its viewers/readers think, which is an aspect that LOST has essentially mastered.

Are you pumped about "The Hobbit"? I think it will be in good hands with Guillermo Del Toro.
