Made it back home

Just a brief note to say that I am finally back on the internets.  I was told suddenly I would have to change schools, so I had to spend long nights organizing materials for the next foreign teacher/ Japanese teachers, clear 4 years worth of stuff off my desk/out of the room, in addition to having to work out an itinerary for my father who was ( Read more... )

Welcome back to the world of the living.

Because obviously, you don't exist unless you're on the internet.

I am the figment of every one's imagination! "You think, therefore I am." (at least I have thinking friends on my flist!) I was able to read some of your entries, although on slow-as-molasses dialup. Would you mind terribly if I could give you a hug..?

I was once told in all seriousness that if me and my boyfriend didn't put that we were going out on Facebook, then we weren't really going out xD

And yay, hugs are good. Of course :3 (this is why I need to stop BAAAWWWWing on my LJ, huh?)

Oh heavens - way to upheave everything! D: I can't believe they just went and moved you to a new school after four years - did they give any reasons?

Good luck at the new school, dearie *hugs*

Haha! The board of education requested my company move everybody around, the same way the Japanese teachers get transferred. They wanted experienced foreigners to spread the skill, so to speak. I lucked out and got a school that has a good reputation, but a massive ZERO in materials the previous foreign teacher left behind (I actually don't think he made any). So I'll have to start from scratch all over again... My first day just finished, so I realized that sad fact. However, it does look like he left all his lesson plans, which is great, as I had heard he was good, but never had the chance to observe him. But yeah, it's the materials-making that takes so much time, AND this school is huge, almost 200 kids per grade. Guess who has to teach all those classes Every. Week.?! So yeah, no prep time= lots of unpaid overtime= no art classes. I am sad...

Oh, I like the new layout by the way - nothing like the old-school refried paper...

Did you have to move far? I hope there's some cool people there to make friends with at least, they can't all be soulless cogs in the educational system.

(Mind you, the bulk of my knowledge of the Japanese school system comes from weird "Legend Of THe Overfiend" hentai, so as long as none of the staff are sporting vagina dentatas and extra genitalia you should be all right, XD!
