I just finished watching the first episode of Karei-naru Ichizoku (The Grand Tribe), Takuya's newest dorama that just finished airing in Japan.

This is the dorama that Momo's Hana Yori Dango defeated at one time in the ratings game (and according to news reports, the first time it ever happened to a Takuya dorama). But Karei started off with a bang ( Read more... )

I am officially stuck on Pride.

Over the weekend, I vowed to "undo" myself and tried to watch other stuff. I even retrieved my Full House video. After all, I used to like this series a lot. I still found it funny, but halfway through Rain's funny face, I started missing Haru and Aki.

I watched Udon at the Lido (sounds so sophisticated but it's a rundown sort of arthouse cinema in BKK and the people on my row had their feet up that really annoyed me) late last night, a food movie about what many consider as Japan's soul food. I know Kimura Takuya is gorgeous.

I know he is uber famous in Japan. In fact, he is a superstar there, short of being a national treasure (side by side I guess with their baseball players and Doraemon).

I know I have been watching too many Japanese doramas (and movies) whenever a face appears onscreen and I go, hmmm. I have seen him/ her somewhere. But since I don't know most of their names, unless they are my favourites, I can only refer to them as this actor from that series etc etc.

No, I'm not talking about the former PM, but his eldest son Kotarou.

He is featured in the recent issue of Time magazine alongside other children of premiers (or former premiers). According to Time, Kotarou's endorsement fee for a low-calorie beer was more than what his father was getting as PM.
