My dad proxy voted for me (since I am on a different continent). Apparently the officers had to look up the registration rules. What fun.

It's not done by absentee ballot, with you saying you won't be there, and them sending you one to send back before a given date? Interesting.

Everyone has the option of a postal vote, but the advice is that they don't allow long enough for the papers to be posted to here and back again. Unless I felt like paying for Fedex or similar, which I don't.

I don't think there's the option of someone else voting for me here, though. Postal or in-person, but no proxy.

BBC Radio Nottingham were reading out Polling Station Rules yesterday :) You cna take your children with you but not let themmark the ballot paper. Same applies to dogs! Horses and ponies must be left outside but other animals may be allowed in at the presiding officer's discretion.
