Preparing for a test
is like holding your breath.
The longer you study,
the longer you get to stay
underwater.

I hate holding my breath.

That's probably why
I seem so shallow.
But there's so much
more to see above water.
Under is a distorted view
of bubbles and blue.
And drowning in it
is what I fear
the most.

I was talking to a friend the other day when he mentioned something he heard about me. It was weird that it didn't hit me at once, but I felt it later that night. He said people think I have a lot of friends, but don't have really close friends. What does this mean about me? What kind of a person am I, then?
