The lack of willingness to take accountability for anything is so completely revolting and I agree with you (granted, maybe I would have been a tad less vulgar but you WERE enraged)... Anyway, I see this everywhere. No one wants to be held accountable for what they say or do and they're always trying to shift the blame onto someone else. Politicians have dozens of people whose sole purpose to act as scape goats for their mistake. But that's another story. The fact of it is, no one wants to admit they're part of this system, and thus they don't want to fix it. People don't want to use the mental effort to evaluate themselves and their beliefs, so the safety valve is used: it is genetic. Evolutionary psychological theories that they don't completely understand are used in a failure of an argument for their apathy and further more used to fortify denial.
My god, yes. I'm so utterly sick to death of bullshit like this kind of thing. When I protest something, I get told to get over it. Oh right, it'll just get better on it's own. That's how things happened in the '60's, right?
I keep running into friends who don't understand why TLA is pissing me off. Somehow it's ok because Hollywood is hard to break into. That doesn't correlate, and it's still racism if they're being passed over for someone else when the role clearly is calling for another ethnicity. Most people really do only consider it racism if it's against someone with dark skin. That infuriates me.

(And yes, I've seen that argument too. My parents generation were maybe too anti-establishment, but at least they got stuff done.
