First, the bad: From a writing standpoint, individual lines and scenes were entertainingly-enough crafted, but the story as a whole was about as predictable as a first-season episode of House, M.D.

On the flipside, Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, and Sigourney Weaver were all great.

Leaving all that aside, I totally forgot it was CGI at multiple points in the film and I don't even SEE the 3D effect. I can't wait to see what people like Neil Blomkamp can do with this technology over the next 10 years.

(And it was way entertaining for all that it was predictable; it was a fantastic visual experience AND it was also very entertaing - over 2.5 hours and it never felt long until I tried to stand up afterwards.)
