hey jake,
Not that you know me or anything, but I figured you could use some un-biased advice. First, all three colleges kick ass. I know people who go to all three and they seem to be happy enough, so try not to freak out, you'll probably end up happy anyway. Secondly, no one can tell you where to go to school, and asking them for advice isn't gonna do the trick. What I would suggest is to sit down WITHOUT ONE OF THOSE RIDICULOUS U.S.NEWS BOOKS (because rankings mean nothing and only are there for the purpose of useless bragging rights between schools), and try to do some real thinking about what, exactly, makes you happy. After that, go to all three campuses again and just make a decision. Things will be easier and you might just be happier.

Hope that is of some help

Well, I agree, the Princeton Review and U.S. News, etc. are not going to help me, but I thought it would give other people some perspective on the places. I've been to all three campuses, and love them all, the problem is that I really cannot make up my mind. I'm not asking people to make up my mind for me, I just want some outside input to see where other people's opinions lie. Thank you for your very intuitive response.
;)

Hey!
First, I didn't pick S-more because I think you should go somewhere besides where your brother is. You need your own space to develop your own sense of self seperate from your family. I know I have learned so much about myself at college, and I don't think that that would have happened if I had family here. It forces you to make a new family. Then, I was going to say Bard because I have been there... but I thought that you might like a less suburban environment... and Sarah Lawrence seemed cool from what I saw on the website... so that is my vote. I love you and miss you!!! :-D

i was looking through people's journals and came across yours...and to my dismay and delight, i found a guy with the very same problem as me. ^_^
i'm actually trying to decide among sarah lawrence, skidmore, and nyu at this point and it's difficult. Believe me, i know what you're going through.
this is how i rank your choices:
1) Sarah Lawrence - This school rocks, and i fell in love with it as soon as i heard of it. This is where i'll most likely be going...
2) Skidmore
3) Bard - Based purely on the fact that i dont know much about it.

you should come to the admiited students' day at slc on april 15th. maybe i'll see you there.

always,
a random girl

that's awesome! I mean it's not awesome that your'e having the same decision problems as myself, but it's awesome that you found my journal! Who knows...we might end up going to the same school! ;)
Well...if I had to choose between skidmore, sarah lawrence, and NYU....I might choose NYU and I don't know why...but if we both end up at SLC that would be awesome!
well thanks again for commenting,
ciao!

Hey, my name is Alissa and I too am a senior in high school. I just decided that I want to spend the next four years at Skidmore, but it was a really really hard decision for me. My advice to you is that you stop asking other people for advice; this should be your decision and you dont need your friends to convince you. Secondly, read the course catalouges of those three schools and compare the course offerings in the areas youre interested in, or in the major you think you may persue. Other than that, Skidmore is tight and I like it a lot; I'm really excited to be going there.

ummm I just wanted to see other people's input, no matter which school won the poll, it would not affect my decision whatsoever, but thanks I guess.
