And the rain fall warm

“Let the winds cease”

Let the winds cease and the sirens die
It is long before the sun will rise
I wish for silent peace these nights
A calming to blanket my weary eyes

Let the trees quiet and cease their wave
So many hours left till break of day
May the grasses halt, the clouds remain
Aloof in the sky, and suspend my pain.

...Okay... Now, why did you think to use the word "sang-froid" just then? Because I stumbled across that word for the very first time today, and it happened to fit my mindset of today pretty well. I was actually going to write something about it in a post this morning, but forgot. I may yet do that if I get around to it.

I meant to also react to the poem. I'm finding that that sort of calming that you wrote about is just the kind of thing that is eluding me, perhaps for you as well, and perhaps your having written it will cast the spell on us both. We can hope!
