Brief History: Jared started taking acting lessons at the mere age of 12 back in San Antonio, Texas before entering and winning the 'Claim to Fame ' contest in 1999 sponsored by the Teen Choice Awards. Soon after, he found himself moving to LA to pursue an acting career as opposed to attending Texas Tech on a scholarship, not long after the move, he landed the role of Dean Forester on 'Gilmore Girls where he appeared as a frequent guest star for four years.
'Gilmore Girls' opened lots of other opportunities for him and in 2004, on the set of Cry_Wolf he met his girlfriend of four years, Sandra McCoy, whom he chose to get engaged to in early 2008, however, unfortunately, it didn't work out for the couple and they ended up calling things off in June of that year. Jared was crushed after the break up but life did anything BUT stop for him as the hit series Supernatural, where he plays one of the series regulars, Sam Winchester, gains more popularity since it started back in 2005 He is still currently filming for the show's fifth season. Unfortunately in early 2009, tragedy struck the set of the show when it lost one of its esteemed directors and producers, Kim Manners, to lung cancer. Everyone, including Jared, mourned the loss, but his memory lives on. He may be gone but definitely not forgotten.
However, the show must go on and it definitely did for Jared when he starred in the Blockbuster hit remake Friday the 13thwhere he played its leading star. It was like returning home for him for most of the movie was shot in Austin, Texas, a city he had grown quite fond of. However, not nearly as fond as he grew of Kristen Bell an old friend he had known for several years. Upon reconnecting, he fell instantly for her charming personality and gorgeous looks. The two became a couple in May 2009 and are still happily together, laughing off rumors of his supposed engagement to his former Supernatural co-star, Genevieve Cortese, a relationship he has confirmed as being just close friends.
