ipod nation

If you see someone you only met like once or twice and you see them walking with an ipod, do you try to pretend you don't see them or awkwardly distract the person from their music? I hate that, it's such an awkward barrier.

I think that at least half the reason I put my headphones on every time I'm walking around campus is that so in situations like the one you described, I have an excuse to just mouth "hi" to the person and then not have to engage in a conversation with them.

I agree 100%.

My headphones are allllways in, and my entire life is mouthing the word "hey" to people I think I kinda know. I once got in an argument with a kid about this. He claimed the iPod was killing our generation and people need to stop and say "hi" more often.

I'm not saying we shouldn't speak to one-another, but I like being able to walk across campus and not run into some girl I kinda sorta talked to my freshman year because I thought her roommate was cute, ya know?
