I have begun to believe that one of the greatest things we can do -- simultaneously noble as a paladin and subversive as a bard-trickster -- is to teach/nurture people to have inner fortitude, courage, and a sense of perspective.
People with those three traits can not be made long-term victim to a sense of learned helplessness and the passivity which comes from existential hopelessness.
And they can teach/nurture others as well, so it becomes a spreading circle of healing, ideally.
