*Curio is still chilly toward Richard, after the great mess that the other man had made of Tom's feelings. so he won't greet the other man as he passes him in the halls--for Curio, this is the equivalent of a dire insult to Richard's mother's sexual proclivities*
And this would nearly be enough to frighten Richard out of further attempts. But in honor of the day, he ventures a rather timid, "Merry Christmas, sir."
"Especially those of us most in need of it. I thank you." He takes a deep breath and says, "I know that we have been most distant of late, and I hope you won't think it presumptuous, but I did fetch you a small something for the holiday. If you'll accept it of me."
The loathely lady of Inglewood is out in the snow, busying herself with the task of appropriating some mistletoe--the damn stuff always grows on the very highest, thinnest branches, and thick warm winter dresses were not meant for climbing in.
