If I was in politics and introduced such a bill, I would making a statement more about government than about caffeine. Sure, I am one of those Mormons who doesn't drink coffee or tea. And, yes, I don't drink Coke/Pepsi either, but that Coke/Pepsi isn't because of my interpretation of "The Word of Wisdom." I actually don't like the taste of them, as well as I cannot stand Mountain Dew and several others. I am not sure it really has anything to do with caffeine as I still like Root Beer with or without caffeine.
Still, I have to laugh at such a tax on coffeine being considered in Utah. Government really is addicted to tax revenues! If this was only Utah, I would laugh. Unfortunately, we see the federal government do these big bailouts recently and then find some new taxes to implement too.
