A new sort of Christmas

I don't remember ever having a part time teary Christmas, this one is my first. I remind myself all the time about how blessed I am and yet the realization that none of my children will wake up in my home Christmas morning I am finding difficult to push away ( Read more... )

I guess it's not technically empty, but everyone scattered at the same time. I got married and moved, my brother went off to WA state (from TX) and my sister graduated and got hired as a nurse working nights, so my mom hardly ever sees her. I think the biggest thing was that it all happened within two or three years. Since 2005-2006.

This is my mom's first Christmas with an empty nest, too. Last year my three brothers were still at home; this year all three have moved out and/or gotten married. She is feeling emotional about it, too. :(

Yeah, there isn't much you can do about it.. it just is. Tell your brothers to be sure and call extra, that helps.;-) and you too of course, if you can.
