Energy is Not a ‘Thing’

A couple of days ago I had a conversation with someone who expressed that she thought certain places have a ‘positive’ or a ‘negative energy’, and while she soon accepted that this was just a semantic trick and a figure of speech, it got me thinking that this may be a common misunderstanding. So to clear matters up let’s talk a little about what ( Read more... )

Thanks for the explanation! It may have been fifth grade science, but my school didn't teach much science.

I find that many schools don't take their science curriculum seriously enough, and in many cases they have sub-par teachers who, themselves, know little about science.
Thus, the explanations given to many students are lacking, akward and often appologetic.
This is a sad state of affairs. :(

Oh, and as for the 'water has memory' line, that little gem is used in relation to homoeopathic 'medicine', which is, to put it simple, bullshit.
If it actually worked the way that homoeopaths claim it does we would have to toss out everything we know about atomic theory and chemistry, and there is absolutely no evidential backing for their crazy ideas.
It was nonsense when it was first 'invented' and it makes even less sense now.

You do write educational books, do you? Something like "Crystal Lattice for Dummies" or "C2H5OH is for Dummies"?
