It's times like these when I'm ever so grateful that my variant of Christian belief is not one of those that assumes atheists go to hell. :) I wish I knew this man better or knew more of him but what I knew of him was that he was a giant upon which many men stood to see further.
I fear that there is not anyone to replace him and that is an immense tragedy. So many great men and women being claimed by the inexorable march of time...
Isn't that always the way? So long as we can commit ideas to a durable medium, there will be a part of us that will be immortal. Certain men, because their ideas have been absorbed and are part of the world we encounter on a daily, sometimes hourly, basis have the nearest thing to having an infinite and timeless reach.

I saw an interview with him dated a year ago. He voice was as firm as one of a 60 years old man. He walked like he were 70.
On a seemingly unrelated note: colourful sound of science.

They should really hurry up with that cure for death, or at the very least, provide the option to upload people's brains to computers... >_>

Still, his intellect lives on through his books, articles and interviews.
