Okey, so I'm a little bit confused. The current economic downturn was caused by people spending too much money on stuff and going in debt and not saving any money back to pay the debt, or even give any signs to lenders that they might someday be able to pay it back. The solution is to this problem is to stop saving your money or trying to pay back ( Read more... )

And this is what confuses me: Isn't the payment of one's debts also a movement of money? Okay, so maybe not a movement of goods, during which money can change hands, and more people can be paid, but ...

My brain hurts. Paying debt is the more honorable of the two alternatives. How can it be worse?
