God bless Obama and his family. Christ have mercy on our country that is ruled by a false prophet. It should've been Hillary Clinton to lead our nation forward and not backward. Impeach the russian marionette!

Thanks. It's hard keeping it together these days. Really I would have been fine with either Hillary or Bernie. When I think of where we actually would have been right now with either one of them. But then I remind myself that Trump is more of a symptom and not the only problem. The racism and distrust and hatred for 'the other' was already there, but has now been empowered by Trump to operate in broad daylight, without the dog whistles, openly. I don't know if we'll ever be "nice" country again, and now I'm beginning to wonder if thinking we were, has been just an illusion all along.

I think I understand now that I think about it. It's the truth no one wanted to acknowledge. This country had it's problems just under the radar until they had a voice. Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy.
That's a thing that one even must leave be an accomplishment oft Obama: Did he really a great redistribution of capital? Did he abandon the big business profit America? Did he put his political opponents into jail in his own country or let them be shot? No, none of that happened. Instead he kept the shop running, so the big business guys can go on making money as they please. He even satisfied the needs of this social group So, what's the big deal with "8 years of the wrong way" and "suffering"? Shall the conservatives come up with somebody else who could have done it. (They got none, that's why Trump's in the White House these days.) So, one needs to be a little realistic about him and his deeds, no matter if you're in favor of him or not.
Obama was kind of a Centrist, wasn't he? Right-wing media liked to paint him as far left-wing, but he really wasn't on most stuff. Mostly middle of the road, often resembling Eisenhower's presidency.
Hm... It rather appears like one big ass bubble filled with hot air which bursted. They tried to depicture him as left-wing, but the only thing "left-wing" for American thinking on him was that he wasn't white. That he was an incarnation of identity politics reaching its ultimate goal. And as identity politics are, blind on one eye and fanatically ideologic, they fucked up. You can't just do politics only with an identity, with your skin color, your sex or your sexual orientation. You also need some content behind your person. And in that, Obama also came around like a dreamer, much less like somebody who's a politician dealing with real things and organizing things. That's why the big revolutions didn't come that everyone was made to hope for.
