I actually do owe you an apology -- there were a lot more votes outstanding than I had realized: on the rough order of three million, in fact. You can look at http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/c-status08/total_unprocessed_ballots08.pdf for updates.

So it seems I was spreading misinformation. :(

(Although, I would still be surprised if they deviated that much from the regular ballots.)
