Celeste Hutchins, aka celesteh, is composer I went to Wesleyan with. She's recently started posting opportunities to commission short one-minute pieces from her for the low-low price of $10, even auctioning them on eBay - although I saw the link in her LJ and didn't have to bid. that comment was extremely witty, btw. I burst out laughing when I read it.

For some reason, a bank in France last year was using vintage images of Columbo in an advertising campaign. Neither here nor there, but it was weird seeing him on the sides of busses.

that somehow strikes me as being very French. French in the "we're nuts about Charlie Chaplain and Alfred Hitchcock" kind of way...
